We’ve all been through dark places. Those Black Friday’s where all hope and expectation of possibility is sucked into nothing but bleak darkness. And then the Enemy of our souls slithers up next to us and whispers the big lie: thus shall your life be—as is this very moment—forever after amen. I have listened to that lie and I hate it. It says there is no hope, no future, no joy for me. There will be no breaking dawn, there will be no relief, this is it. Forever.
On Friday things look hopeless. All dreams are dashed. All plans are put aside. Resignation reigns. But that’s just the view from Friday. Sunday’s coming! Are you struggling with dashed dreams and thinking things will never change? Take courage. Because on your behalf He has conquered all that. There is no pit too deep or sin so serious He can’t pull you out of. He can make all things new. Even if others never change, He can change your heart. Your response. Your feelings. It may be Friday for you, but Sunday’s coming! Dare to live in confident resurrection expectation.
