How are you doing on your plans to make Advent meaningful for your whole family?
Too busy? Too hard to organize?
Introducing Family Advent. The new iphone/ipad app that’s making Advent easy, accessible and engaging for the whole family.
I always have good intentions, but reality fails to deliver what my I thought I would accomplish during this season. Not anymore! I kept researching Amazon for good books or apps on Advent. Usually they were too boring (long scripture reading, no activities for kids, no thought-provoking discussions) or too simplistic. So my husband and I built our own. A page and a half of tantalizing information like candy canes, Christmas cookies and presents, followed by a short prayer and free ornament to color in. Fun, simple and done! I hope you enjoy it too.
Why did the angels announce the news to shepherds first?
Is there anything Christ-like about Santa Claus/St. Nicholas?
Is there a deeper meaning in the candy cane?
Why did the wise men bring frankincense and myrrh to Jesus?
What Christian message is there in Christmas cookies?
These Advent-related topics and more are covered in the new iPhone/iPad app “Family Advent” by Laurie and Thomas Kehler (I did the content, he did the code). For just .99¢ your family will have 25 days worth of devotional readings on kid-friendly topics and free activities to celebrate Advent.
Try it and tell me what you think!
(And feel free to give it glowing reviews)
