Every year it was the same: Dad thought a star should be on top, Mom wanted an angel. She pointed out how the angels sang to the shepherds “Glory to God in the Highest.”
But my father—who grew up with a star on top—argued that a star should be placed there to reminded everyone of the Star of Bethlehem. The star that guided shepherds and wise men to where the Christ child was born.
Why are there no more stars of Bethlehem to guide us today? Wouldn’t that be convenient? What does God use to guide us during these turbulent times?
When you read Advent Devotions for Busy Families you’ll find out how God guides us today and why we no longer need a Star of Bethlehem. Unless it’s for topping off a dazzling and pretty Christmas tree!
