A friend asked on Facebook: What’s your word for 2017? I loved that. One word. Just one small thing to focus on. That’s totally doable.
I’ve been shopping for planners for organizing my year. Ruth Soukup’s Living Well Planner, Powersheets® by Lara Casey and a plethora of other, worthy, cute planners. I got totally bogged down. What is the best planner for me? Which one will totally change my year? Which one will finally help me get out of distracted and into directed living? It’s all too much muchness.
Last year I made an acronym for myself that worked well. It was four words that I could easily remember. Prayer-Organize-Workout-Write— P.O.W.W. I thought of it as; when I’m feeling out of control and overwhelmed, I will POWW the situation. It was my go-to handle for getting back to basics when I was getting off-track. I would attack the situation with one of the words—or a few of them—and things inevitably got better and running smoothly.
Your acronym could be P.R.L—Pray, Relax, Love on your family. I don’t know what your sore spots are, but a short, easily-remembered word group is an easy reminder.
But to strip it down more, you could boil it down to one word. For 2017 my word to focus on is: connection.
I have let far too many friendships slip by the wayside as I ran after all the shoulds and oughts the relentless tsunami of emails in my inbox scream at me. This program will completely change your 2017!! My course will radically transform your to-do lists! (And I unsubscribed from most of those). I need more reflection and quiet work time, not more hurry-up-get-these-great-business-programs-NOW time.
Friendships are eternal. Business is not. This year, I’m going to re-invest in relationships and friendships by pursuing connection.
